The ASEAN Engineer Register (AER) and the ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) 


The ASEAN Engineer Register (AER) and the ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) are initiatives aimed at promoting mobility of engineering professionals within the ASEAN region. The ASEAN Engineer Certificate (AEC) is a document issued to engineers who meet the qualifications and requirements set by the respective member countries.

 

Here is a sample outline for obtaining the ASEAN Engineer Certificate:

 

Requirements for ASEAN Engineer Certificate:

Engineering Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.

Registration as a professional engineer in your home country.

Experience:

 

A minimum of 7 years of cumulative engineering experience.

3 years of experience in responsible charge of significant engineering work.

Professional Practice:

 

Evidence of professional practice within the scope of engineering.

Referees or sponsors who can vouch for your engineering competence.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD):

 

Completion of CPD activities relevant to your engineering field.

Documented evidence of CPD hours or points accrued.

Ethics and Conduct:

 

Adherence to the Code of Ethics for Engineers.

No record of disciplinary actions or ethical violations.

Steps to Obtain ASEAN Engineer Certificate:

Application Submission:

 

Complete the application form provided by your national engineering council.

Attach required documents such as academic certificates, engineering registration, CV, and CPD records.

Assessment:

 

Your application will undergo assessment by the national engineering council.

They will review your qualifications, experience, and professional practice.

Interview or Examination:

 

Some countries may require you to attend an interview or take an examination.

This is to assess your engineering knowledge and skills.

Approval:

 

Upon successful assessment, your application will be approved by the national engineering council.

You will receive the ASEAN Engineer Certificate.
